I am a writer, photographer, wilderness guide, and once upon a time wildland firefighter.

I specialize in immersion journalism in the natural world through the lens of skier, cyclist, canoeist, and backpacker.

Whether it is a month long whitewater canoe trip in Canada or a pedal powered ski tour to the Sierra Nevada I have been as rooted in the trips I go on as I am in describing the flavor of the adventure.
